Biography

Prof. Eddie Chong is a counseling psychologist dedicated to understanding and addressing diversity-related issues in research, training, and practice. He draws on critical theories and Buddhist psychology to inform his work. His research focuses on two key areas: (a) Resilience and stress processes of socially marginalized individuals and (b) facilitators and barriers for intercultural empathy in both therapeutic contexts and everyday life. He employs quantitative methods, including intensive longitudinal methods, to contribute to the sciences of compassion and diversity.
