Abstract
Six youth ended their lives by jumping from a height in the same housing estate in North District within 4 months in 2010, drawing public attention towards youth suicide. In response, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (CSRP) carried out a community-based suicide prevention project aimed at reducing the number of suicides therein. In this training workshop, we will introduce the suicide prevention model applied in North District through a community perspective. Strategies to formulate action plans and mobilize resources in preventing suicide will be highlighted.
