Public Mental Health Interventions under COVID-19 Pandemic
The fifth wave of the COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong continues, and it has created a drastic impact on everyone’s lives. Preventive measures such as tightened social-distancing and the Vaccine Pass scheme have led loneliness, depression and anxiety symptoms among the elderly population. In response to the needs of the society, the “JC JoyAge” HKU Project Team is organising two professional workshops that aim to enhance participants’ knowledge, understanding and skills for the identification of depressive and anxiety symptoms in older adults. Early identification and preventive work for elderly suicide will also be discussed.
