Co-organizers: International Social Service & HKU SWSA Fieldwork Setting Coordinator of Multicultural Social Work
Non-refoulement Claimants (NRC) have been forced to leave their country to escape from war, persecution, torture, cruelty, inhumanity, and degrading treatment. They have applied for non-refoulement claims at Hong Kong Immigration Department, where their claims are being processed, hoping to be allowed to stay in a safe place like HK and not be returned to their country.
ISS-HK provides humanitarian assistance during their stay in Hong Kong. This talk is to increase social workers’ and counselors’ awareness of NRC and support them with everyday acts of kindness. This presentation aims to inspire more social workers and counsellors to serve them in the community.
