When Technology meets Psychological Intervention: Innovation in Community-Based Psychological Services

The webinar will introduce the Stepped Care Model of mental health treatment and Jockey Club Electronic Clinic for Psychological Services (JC eClinic) as an example of high-intensity psychological intervention. We will delve into the characteristic and benefits of the use of transdiagnostic psychological treatment through a hybrid mode in JC eClinic. This approach combines online self-learning with personalized therapist sessions to provide comprehensive and stigma-free services.

By the end of the webinar, you will
1. Have a deeper understanding of the hybrid mode of psychological treatment delivery;
2. Learn about the Unified Protocol, a transdiagnostic approach for addressing depression and anxiety, and well as its electronic adaptation in JC eClinic;
3. Gain valuable insights shared by an HKU counseling alumnus currently working at JC eClinic.

About the speaker:
Ms. Sherry Im is a Clinical Psychologist at New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association in Hong Kong. She has years of clinical experience in providing evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention for adults with mental health issues. She is also the clinical supervisor of the Jockey Club Electronic Clinic for Psychological Services, i.e., JC-eClinic, that provide high intensity online psychological intervention for individuals with moderate to severe depression and/or anxiety problems. Ms. Im completed her professional training in clinical psychology in Hong Kong and is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She has Level II qualification in Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Emotional Disorders (UP) and is also a qualified facilitator of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

All HKU students with a concentration in counselling, psychology, mental health, and social work are welcome to join.
