Research Assistant Professor
Biography

Dr. Jacky Choy is a gerontologist dedicated to enhancing carer mental health and post-diagnostic support for individuals living with dementia. His research spans three key areas: 1) Shared family caregiving involving multiple informal carers, 2) Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) for people living with dementia, and 3) Task-shifting in the delivery of evidence-based care and interventions. Dr. Choy’s recent work explores the trajectories of dementia care shared among multiple carers, with emphasis on family-level preparedness and the impact of carer wellbeing. Since 2017, he has played a pivotal role in the development of CST in Hong Kong, including the implementation of professional training and the piloting of carer- and volunteer-led delivery models. He is also a founding member of the Dementia Training Academy at University College London, contributing to the development and international dissemination of best practices in dementia care.
