4th HKU-UBS SSILP Cohort Begins!

April 24, 2026
The HKU-UBS Sustainable and Social Innovation Leadership Programme

We are pleased to share with you that the HKU-UBS Sustainable and Social Innovation Leadership Programme (SSILP), co-directed by Prof. Amy Chow and Prof. Cheryl Chui of the Department, has officially started its 4th cohort on 17th April.

SSILP is a collaboration between our Department and investment bank UBS. It is a unique educational programme aiming to empower non-profit practitioners to transform Hong Kong into the Philanthropy Powerhouse in Asia. Every year, 30 non-profit practitioners from Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities will be recruited to complete a series of trainings backed by the academia, field leaders and senior UBS colleagues. Over the past four years of collaboration, SSILP has already trained around 120 nonprofit leaders across Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities.

The six‑month programme will blend theory and practice across strategic thinking, organizational culture, cross-sector collaboration, and—new for 2026—responsible AI competency. There will also be a field trip to Shenzhen and Foshan to explore the diverse landscape of social innovation across the Greater Bay Area. After completing the training sessions, the SSILP fellows will present their final projects on stage at the Final Pitching Day to compete for a seed fund of $400k.

We look forward to ac sharing more about their learning, projects, and impact in the months ahead. Please stay tuned!
