Nonprofit-Led Educational Equity

Building Coordinated Systems to Propel Students from College to Career

22 January? MON? 19:00 – 20:30? Zoom

Many third sector organizations focused on higher education share a commitment to increased equity among young people by providing high-quality access, persistence and transition programs. The broad goal is to transition young people to college and beyond more successfully.? Community-based organizations (CBOs) share the same goal in helping students persist and graduate from higher education and have a career with a livable wage. However, in many locations there is a lack of coordinated support in creating productive partnerships, using financial and human resources efficiently, and preventing duplicated services. Marty will talk about how with alignment and shared visioning that foundations, nonprofits, governments, and higher education can significantly increase college persistence and graduation rates through the coordination of efforts and support.

About the speaker:

Dr. Marty W. Forth, University Assistant Dean at CUNY’s K16 Initiative since March 2022, spearheads dual enrollment and pre-college engagement initiatives.
