大公文匯全媒體報道,港大社會工作及社會行政學系講座教授葉兆輝今日(17日)於電台節目表示,本港正面對嚴重人口老化,形容問題來得急速,長者經歷近年疫情等,缺乏生活寄託,面對焦慮和孤獨等,令長者自殺有上升趨勢,尤其是獨老、雙老長者。他說讓長者感覺不被遺棄十分重要,除了做好鄰里支援,亦鼓勵長者主動尋求幫助和參與社區活動。

香港大學社會工作及社會行政學系總監葉兆輝指出,本港正面對嚴重人口老化,形容問題來得急速,長者經歷近年疫情和家人移民等,缺乏生活寄托,面對焦慮和孤獨等,令長者自殺有上升趨勢,尤其是獨老、雙老長者。他表示,未來會與各區的關愛隊合作,為隊員提供訓練,透過「洗樓」找出更多需要幫助的隱蔽長者,提供適切服務。

港大調查:男性高估女性獲取社會資源的容易程度 女性性別定型影響心理健康

性別平等議題討論多年,香港大學社會工作及社會行政學系,於今年1至2月,訪問1287名年滿18歲的香港居民,當中603名受訪者為男性,年齡介乎26至45歲;684名女受訪者中,亦有約一半人年齡介乎26至45歲。調查發現評估對於女性在社會獲得資源的難易度時,評為「容易」的男性比例較女性高。負責調查的港大社工學系教授陳凱欣認為,雖然不同研究顯示本港的性別平等程度較不少國家高,本次調查反映男性普遍高估女性在獲取和掌控社會資源和機會的容易程度。其中關於女性獲取基礎醫療保健的質素時,68.2%的受訪男性認為女性普遍能獲得良好質素的醫療,女性則只有52%,差距是眾多指標中最大。她相信男女在回覆調查時的差距,與現實生活上的經歷有關。

近年本港有情緒需要人士的數字有上升趨勢,涵蓋各年齡層人士。香港賽馬會今日( 23日)宣布,透過賽馬會慈善信託基金撥捐超過7.9億港元支持8項措施,包括賽馬會現有的「平行心間計劃」、「樂齡同行計劃」,並打算與香港大學香港賽馬會防止自殺研究中心建立「預防自殺預警機制」,協助學校等團體加強預防自殺行為等,預計有超過15.4萬名市民、由青少年至長者都可受惠。

學童心理健康一直備受教育界關注。教育局自2012年開始,已有引入動物輔助治療支援服務的概念。動物輔助教育(Animal Assisted Education,簡稱AAE)以動物作為輔助,旨在提升學生的學習效果和心理健康。自2022年開始,更多前線教育工作者意識到動物輔助教育對支援學童心理健康具有正面效果。

In 2022, a total of 61,557 people passed away in Hong Kong. For terminally ill patients, various medical and care options are available. However, as patients approach the last stage of their life, they may not be in a position to make decisions or communicate their wishes. 【明報專訊】(編按:邱婆婆今年80歲,已患柏金遜症逾廿年,3年前見病情轉差,覆診時向醫生提出希望簽署「預設醫療指示AMD」:「我問醫生,如果最差之時,你會點對我」……)政府正擬就「預設醫療指示(AMD)」及「不作心肺復蘇術命令」立法,港大社會科學學院一項調查發現,約75%受訪者未聽過AMD,近七成從未聽過「安寧照顧」(專為晚期病人而設的身心照顧服務),不過經調查人員簡單解說,三分之二的人表示接受設立AMD。港大社會科學學院社會工作及社會行政學系系主任周燕雯指出,結果反映受訪者對有關議題認識十分貧乏,呼籲加強生死教育,「讓市民及早認識,未雨綢繆」。
